On Friday, January 23, 2026, Human Response Network (HRN), in collaboration with Trinity County, will conduct the annual Point in Time Count (PIT Count), a critical effort to better understand homelessness in Trinity County and connect individuals to needed resources.
The Point in Time Count is a federally required survey that takes place nationwide each year. Locally, it helps ensure that people experiencing homelessness in Trinity County are accurately counted and represented in state and federal data. This information directly impacts funding decisions, service planning, and programs that support housing stability in our community.
Free Resource Event in Weaverville for People Experiencing Homelessness
As part of the PIT Count, HRN and Trinity County will host a Free Resource Event in Weaverville for people experiencing homelessness.
Location: Weaverville Veterans Hall, 109 Memorial Drive, Weaverville, CA 96093
Date: Friday, January 23, 2026
Time: 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Community members experiencing homelessness are invited to attend and complete the survey while accessing supportive services and resources, including free food, local service providers, resource information, free flu shots provided by Trinity County Public Health, and donated coats and other essential items.
Countywide Surveys and Community Outreach
To reach as many individuals as possible, trained survey teams will also be conducting brief, confidential surveys at various locations throughout Trinity County. This countywide approach helps ensure that individuals who may not be able to attend a central event are still included in the count.
Surveys are voluntary, take only a short time to complete, and help strengthen local efforts to address homelessness.
Why the Point in Time Count Matters
The PIT Count is more than a number—it is about ensuring that everyone counts. By participating, individuals help paint a clearer picture of homelessness in Trinity County and support efforts to improve services, increase funding opportunities, and strengthen community-wide responses.
